What is Workflow? Behind the hood; Instances and tasks

Modified on Fri, 18 Nov 2022 at 01:44 PM

Workflow is a feature that enables brands/businesses to escape operational hell by automating audience engagement processes so as to focus on other aspects of the business.

Workflows work based on the principle of trigger and action. A trigger is an action that happens that initiates the automations while actions are steps executed as part of the workflow.

Behind the Hood; Instances

A workflow runs in the context of an audience ie the workflow executes steps in connection with a particular audience.

Instances

An instance is an occurrence of a workflow running for an audience. A workflow can be executed for a single audience, multiple audiences, and multiple instances of the same audience.

Instances of your workflow can be tracked from the workflow dashboard.

Tasks

A task is an action executed on an audience in a workflow. A task could be generating and delivering a badge, sending an email, sending a slack message etc.
